The young woman who should have made it to graduation
On the morning of May 22, 2018, eighteen‑year‑old Arionna Parham left her home in Dickinson, Texas, getting ready for what should have been one of the most exciting weeks of her life. She was supposed to graduate the next day. Her cap and gown were ready. Her family was preparing to celebrate her.
But Arionna never made it to school. She never came home. And she never got the chance to walk across that stage.

A Girl With a Gentle Heart

Arionna was:
  • sweet
  • trusting
  • emotionally younger than her age
  • deeply attached to her family
  • someone who loved to laugh and loved being around the people she cared about

She also lived with severe asthma, requiring an inhaler several times a day, something she never left home without. But on the day she disappeared, her inhaler was still in her room. That detail has haunted her family ever since.

The Last Time She Was Seen

Witnesses reported seeing Arionna get into a black Nissan Altima driven by a man known as “Nicco.” She had been talking to him for a short time, an older man, someone her family didn’t know well.
She never arrived at school. Her phone went silent. Her belongings were left behind. Her family knew immediately that something was wrong. Arionna was not the kind of girl who walked away from her life. Especially not without her medication.

The Search for Answers

In the days and weeks that followed, her family pushed for answers. They searched. They pleaded for information. They held onto hope. But the truth did not come quickly. And the silence around her case grew heavier with time. Years later, her remains were found, a discovery that brought heartbreak but not closure. Because the questions surrounding her disappearance remain.

A Family Still Waiting for Justice

Arionna’s family has carried the weight of her absence with grace and strength. They have fought for her name to be remembered. They have pushed for accountability. They have refused to let her story fade. Their love for her is the thread that keeps her present, even now.

Why Her Story Matters

Arionna’s disappearance is not just a tragedy; it is a reminder of how quickly a young woman’s life can be interrupted, how deeply a family can be changed, and how important it is to keep speaking the names of those who should still be here. Her story deserves space. Her memory deserves honor. Her family deserves answers.

Holding Space for Arionna

This post is simply a moment to honor Arionna Parham, a daughter, a sister, a young woman who should have been celebrating her graduation, not becoming a mystery her family would spend years trying to understand. There are other stories like hers. Stories that deserve the same care, the same attention, the same light. And in time, I’ll be sharing more of them.

For now, we remember Arionna, the young woman who should have come home.
